Our vision is to redefine wellness in Prince Rupert by creating a sanctuary that mirrors the intelligence of kelp forests.
Kelp Forests are systems that are adaptive, regenerative, and vital to survival. Kelp is known to sequester carbon, protect marine biodiversity, and heal environments.
We see our collective doing the same for the humans in our care.
As Canada’s rainiest city, our community is deeply impacted by seasonal affective disorder, addiction, depression, and intergenerational trauma.
We envision Kelp Forest Wellness Collective as a vibrant, nature-inspired refuge offering innovative therapies, movement, nutrition, and connection—especially for those often underserved in traditional wellness spaces.
By fostering resilience and belonging, we aim to shift the tide toward holistic health in rural communities, and serve as a model of healing ecosystems—human and environmental alike.

We are dedicated to nurturing balance in all three pillars of life:
- Mind: We provide a supportive environment to cultivate mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
- Body: Our services promote physical healing, strength, and vitality—helping you feel at home in your body.
- Spirit: We create space for mindfulness, presence, and connection to self and the world around you.

Previously home to the iconic Spectrum Dance Studio for over 30 years, this building has long served as a sanctuary for growth, self-expression, and connection.
It nurtured community and inspired personal development through the same pillars we honour today—mind, body, and spirit.
At Kelp Forest Wellness Collective, we are proud to carry this legacy forward. Through thoughtful repurposing and reuse of the building’s original elements, we are breathing new life into a space that has always supported transformation.
Our intention is to preserve its soul while creating a refreshed environment where healing, creativity, and community continue to thrive.

Shirene is a lifelong entrepreneur, born and raised in Prince Rupert, BC.
Before founding Kelp Forest Massage (Feb 2024) and Kelp Forest Wellness Collective Ltd. (Sept 2024), she worked as a longshore worker with ILWU Local 505 and as a fisheries observer and an environmental technician. Her entrepreneurial spirit showed early—cleaning fishing boats, making jewelry, creating seafood recipe books, and even butchering fish as a child.
Rooted in a deep passion for holistic health and community care, she has brought together a diverse collective of female entrepreneurs offering services in massage, counselling, fitness, sustainable living and natural therapies.
With the recent opening of the wellness center, her mission remains focused: to support whole-person wellness—mind, body, and spirit—in the heart of the North Coast.

At Kelp Forest Wellness Collective, we are more than just a wellness space.
We are a diverse collection of skills and passions united by a shared mission to support whole-person healing.
Our collective includes massage therapists, sustainable health and cleaning specialists, group fitness instructors, visual artists, registered clinical counsellors, bioenergetic practitioners, nutrition support professionals, and movement facilitators.
Together, we offer a wide range of services
